A Daily Planet show has now become something of a special occasion, partly due to infrequency but also because this music is such fun to play. There’s a little bit of everything - jazz, Irish music, blues, bluegrass, Latin, the list goes on - and whilst we all come from very different musical backgrounds we share what I’d like to think is a healthy disregard for musical history or geography (or maybe it’s just that we all have short attention spans).

On December 18th 2006 the band played at what has now become our annual Christmas party at the West Country’s famous music pub The Bell. This show is always rammed and great fun. Josh Clark, a close friend of the band, suggested that, as the chance of another studio record seems more and more distant, he set up some recording equipment and capture the show. What you hear on this record is the second of the two sets we played on the night. I hope the fun we had translates to the plastic.
